The new green leaves are bright in the rainy season.

Also, May~July is the season for baby deer to be born in Nara Park.

You can get close to newly born baby deer

at “Rokuen”「鹿苑」 (Deer shelter).

They are so cute!

If you are lucky, you might even be able to watch a deer being born.

There’s a special food for the new mother deer.

You can feed them for 100 JPY and get a chance for a lucky lottery!

 

After observing the open field, move to the back of the shelter.

You can feed them acorns for free (one cup per person).

 

At the office, you can rest and do some colouring with your kids.

 

 

“Rokuen” is close to Kasuga-taisha shrine.

This event open from June 1st to 30th.

Opening hours: 11:00 ~ 14:00 (Last admission at 13:30)

Admission fee: 300 JPY (Age 18 and under are Free )

Closed in the event of heavy rain.

 

This is a unique vending machine.

Your money helps support deer.
