The Nara International Film Festival (NIFF) is a biennial film festival held in the historically rich city of Nara, Japan.
NIFF was founded in 2010 by locals in Nara, including the filmmaker Naomi Kawase, and this year marks the festival’s 5th edition. Since its founding, NIFF has been dedicated to embracing emerging filmmakers.
Along with the main events of the International and Student Competition programs, NIFF showcases special programs and interactive events to entertain film enthusiasts and local audiences alike.
